About the Author
Father Matthias Joseph Scheeben was born at Meckenheim, Germany in 1835. Held as one of the greatest Catholic theologians of modern times, he taught dogmatic theology at Cologne after becoming a priest in 1858. He went on to author many works, including The Mysteries of Christianity, Nature and Grace, The Glories of Divine Grace, and A Manual of Catholic Theology. Father Scheeben believed that a deeper understanding of Catholic dogma should be available to all Catholics, and strove to make his books accessible to those who share the faith. He died in 1888.
