Grant Black’s Saskatchewan roots run deeper than a caragana shrub: his paternal great-grandparents emigrated in 1884 from Scotland’s Hebrides to Wapella and his Scots-Irish maternal great-grandparents arrived in 1905 from southern Ontario to homestead near Rosetown.
