About the Author


Tony Shillitoe is an Australian writer who entered the fantasy field in 1992-3 when Pan Macmillan Australia published his popular and successful Andrakis trilogy. He followed the trilogy with a stand-alone coming of age fantasy novel, The Last Wizard, which was short-listed for the inaugural Aurealis Awards Best Fantasy Novel in 1995. From 2002-2008, Tony published two more fantasy series - the Ashuak Chronicles trilogy and the Dreaming in Amber quatrology - with HarperCollins Voyager Australia, and Blood, from the Ashuak Chronicles, was shortlisted for the Aurealis Awards Best Fantasy Novel in 2002. Tony branched into Adolescent/Young Adult novels in 1999 with the publication of Joy Ride by Wakefield Press. Tony's second teenage novel, Caught in the Headlights, published by HarperCollins Angus and Robertson imprint, was listed as a notable read for Older Readers in the 2003 Children's Book Council Awards, and subsequently appeared on Premier's Reading Lists around the nation. Tony has also written and published short stories, scripts, poetry, professional writing course books and ghost-edited a variety of projects.
