Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi (1208-1273) was a 13th-century Persian poet, a Sufi mystic and one of the greatest spiritual masters and poetical intellects. Rumi is a mysterious and provocative poet. His mystical epics, the Mathnawi and the Divan, are widely considered among the best poetry ever written and have been translated into many languages.
