Current approaches in metaheuristics have been presented in this up-to-date book. This book aims at drawing attention of practitioners and researchers towards the applicability of metaheuristic algorithms to practical scenarios arising from different knowledge disciplines. Special focus has been paid to evolutionary algorithms and swarm intelligence as computational means to effectively balance the trade-off between optimality of the produced solutions and the complexity derived from their estimation.
