Description

Because of a strong influence of German musical school brought back to China by the composer's father, Prof. Feilih Huang, the last Chinese pupil of Paul Hindemith in Yale, the combination of the traditional West harmony with the Chinese music language has became the foundation of Huang An-lun's composition since his very early age.A more than thirty years of experience and toughening of life since the composing of the, Huang An-lun's was completed on the spring of 2014. It has been dedicated to his wife, Shirley Ouyang, who fully supports the composer. Some critic defined this work as Huang's "most mature composition, ever." For its different versions, this has been successfully world premiered by Bin Huang, Alexander Suleiman, Yubo Zhou( in Beijing) and Joyce Lai, Andras Weber, Angela Park ( in Toronto) in 2017. However, the MDG recording in front of you is the final version. A meaningful main theme draws forth the vicissitude of 1st movement. Nevertheless, a bridge with full of forceful energy brings out the meditative second theme. This contemplative typed emotion is warmly expressed deeply in the following cantabile 2nd movement. As the traditional structure, the 3rd movement is a fast ingenious scherzo with a trio in vast gayer mood. In the final movement, a broad folk-tone-typed-melody is displayed the virtuosity by each instruments of the trio individually. The music is pushed by the wild uninhibited rhythm and climbed to a brilliant ending. Three outstanding musicians, violinist Bin Huang, pianist Yubo Zhou and cellist Alexander Suleiman, have recorded the three Trios of Huang. Releases by the German MDG, in 2017. This CD has earned some very nice reviews with the recommendation of five stars in the European music magazine "Pizzicato.
