Humans and nature are inescapably interconnected. We are as much a part of nature as it is a part of us. We are wild at heart and embracing our wild is how we learn to find our peace. It's how we learn from the language of tress, see the beauty in a sunset and enjoy the taste of forest, sea or mountain air. "Human. Nature." is a collection of poetry inspired by the connections that exist between everyday life, nature, and the lessons we can learn when we slow down to take it all in. Nature has a way of putting things into perspective when everything else feels like it's spinning out of control.

If you have ever wondered why nature is such a peace place, or the stars turn your eyes as wide as the sun, then this book is for you. It is inspired by the beautiful, but unforgiving Northern lands of Ontario, and the changing of the seasons. In these pages you'll find that there are faces in the rock, the trees whisper their secrets into the wind, and the rivers are born sculptors. There are flowers said to be the artist's tools of the devil himself, the wind sings and sometimes you'll catch the stars dance across the sky. Nature has an artist's soul and it will talk to anyone that is willing to listen.

This is my love letter to the wilderness as much as it is a reflection on the pieces of my years. It is my story, as much as it is yours. I hope you find yourself in the pages, and never give up on the adventure of your own soul.
