And now she just wants to start over with a new life in a new town, escaping a past that includes consulting with the Los Angeles Police Department as a psychic investigator. Only her new-found peace doesn't last long.

The ghost of Grace Collins has appeared and is asking for her help, right around the same time the cops find Grace's murdered body floating in nearby Millerton Lake.
