Kaden James has been writing his whole life. He started with short stories and plays, then had success writing music, then novels and now his first holiday story. In his preface he described how this heartwarming story came to be. "It was mid-October, another birthday had just passed and I was having a really tough time financially, I was unemployed and feeling restless. With the holidays fast approaching I felt afraid that I wouldn't have anything to give the people I loved. I had always pictured myself in a more comfortable position financially by this age and was feeling a bit like a failure. I had always followed my passion but it just hadn't paid off monetarily yet. I applied for work and took more odd jobs to support myself through the process. There was a conflict between my mind and my heart with what jobs I should seek. Fortunately, the heart won and I didn't just settle on a regular nine to five or you probably wouldn't be reading this book today. I started playing Christmas music even before Halloween. The music calmed me and with the world so unpredictable I felt comfort in these songs I had grown up with. There was an intuitive tugging at my heart and I resolved to just write. I didn't judge the process, I simply allowed the words to flow through me and onto the pages. In-SPIRIT-ation, my personal definition of the word inspiration, had taken me. It was an immersive experience that caused me to confront my long held fear that what I had to give wasn't enough. Writing this book changed me. It may seem like it's just a simple book but there is a wealth of knowledge here that I won't fully take credit for. The spirit of the season filled me through this experience and my hope is that you will feel the warmth within these pages.
