John Trent started his professional career as a computer programmer. After some years he worked in the Commodities and Futures and Options business before becoming involved as a specialist in Financial Spread Betting. From there he moved into other areas of betting, including the first company to offer Sports Spread Betting and then into fixed odds betting. He has worked as a bookmaker. He has subsequently acted as a consultant to many well known bookmaker companies including Ladbrokes, Corals and Victor Chandler as well as multiple spread betting companies. Before retiring he specialised in fraud investigation and prevention. He now runs a service that provides daily updated data to a limited number of customers for horse race betting plus new information from data analysis using his extensive racing database.
