Description
Internet Gaming Disorder (IGD) is an emerging topic of interest in the DSM-5-TR, and further research has been encouraged by the American Psychological Association. Most research on IGD has been conducted by institutions in Asia and Europe; however, further research in the United States may benefit counselor educators. Many risk factors for IGD in the population pose a unique challenge during the unexpected SARs-COVID-19 pandemic. Research targeting adult males between the ages of 18 and 25 in the United States was conducted to explore the relationship between Internet gaming disorder symptoms, satisfaction with family life, and selfmonitoring. A non-experimental correlational design was used to investigate the relationships between variables.
