Description

Desideria Oliv n, una joven de Huesca con decepciones matrimoniales, en el curso de un viaje tur stico por Turqu a descubre repentinamente la pasi n amorosa m's avasalladora en los brazos de Yamam, y, a pesar de que no sabe casi nada de l, lo deja todo para vivir a su lado en Estambul. Desideria Oliv n, a young woman from Huesca with marital disappointments, in the course of a tourist trip through Turkey suddenly discovers the most overwhelming amorous passion in Yamam's arms, and, despite the fact that she knows almost nothing about him, she leaves everything to live with him in Istanbul.Time passes, and the intensity of this love persists, but the relations of the two lovers become more and more dramatic and more sordid, until Desideria's reunion with an old friend of hers who belongs to Interpol reveals the true nature of Yamam's lucrative activities.

The story, admirably told through the protagonist's supposed intimate notebooks, is a bitter meditation on love taken to its ultimate consequences in the midst of a very pathetic climate, to the point of physical and moral destruction, which Antonio Gala knows how to describe with the irresistible force of his style.
