Ismail Merathi was a versatile personality. He was a poet, prose writer, translator, critic and reviewer at the same time, but mostly famous for his poems. He has experimented in every genre of writing. These include Ghazal, Nazm, Rubai, Qaseedah, Masnavi, Qatah, Salam etc. He started poetry with Ghazal. Selected 'Rubai' of his have been included in this book.
